Located in the game-rich Masai Mara National Reserve, SAMANA Mara is a private family-owned tented camp.


Incorporated into the camp’s design, the remarkable rocky landscape creates an impressive atmosphere with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

THE CAMP

SAMANA Mara Luxury Tented Camp is a classic safari camp located on the banks of a seasonal stream on the border of the Mara ecosystem and comprising 5 spacious and private tents. 

Unique features within the landscape and the breathtaking views of the national reserve create a truly wild atmosphere and set SAMANA Mara apart from other tented camps in the Masai Mara.


The camp is fully solar-powered and supported by a backup generator.

HIGHLIGHTS

Nestled between the bush and rocky outcrops, residents include, Zebra, Impala, Wildebeest, Hyena, Lion and Leopard, to name a few.

Not to forget the abundance of bird species who enjoy the tranquillity of the area. 

WHEN TO VISIT

January - March

Most plains game will be calving which is indeed a spectacular event as the calving season attracts lots of opportunistic predators making for some action-packed sightings.

April - May

The peak of the long rains has arrived turning the Masai Mara into a lush green landscape filled with flowering trees and shrubs as well as migrating bird species.

June - October

With the high season slowly creeping in, and the weather stabilizing with the odd shower here and there, June provides good game viewing and stable temperatures.

November - December

As the dry season comes to an end, the short rains creep back over the Mara skies. 
Temperatures remain high with the odd afternoon showers here and there.
